On the Chiswick blog today I am sharing a fun art journaling page. This page started off as an experiment and it morphed into a fun colourful page with a darker side.
I created the background with 5 colours of acrylic paint but my main focus was using POP paint colours in Signal Red and Flamingo
as my base.
step 1 – Paint a few large patches of Flamingo paint onto your background
step 2 – Once the Flamingo is dry, add layers of red paint on top.
step 3 – Once the red paint is dry, add several other colours of paint.
I used a flat paint brush and added flat paint strokes to cover the pages of my art journal.
Leave the layers of paint to dry thoroughly and completely.
On top of my background I added some painted black circles,, Flamingo circles, scribbles and ink splats on top of a layer
of crackle paint. A dark art journaling page to reflect my mood last week – and that’s OK. What started off as a happy bright and vibrant page
turned into an outward expression of how I felt. And that really is the purpose of art journaling – isn’t it?
