For this card I used the School Days Stamp Set. I used the sentiment stamped acorss the background in Black VersaFine Clair repeatedly with only
1 sentiment stamped in a different colour to make it stand out.
The circle element was stamped on a Rose coloured circle, and my star inked in VersaFine Clair as well.
A bright pink strip coloured with the VersaFine Clair runs across the top section of the card.

A few diamante and ink splats finished off this quick and easy card.

For my card I used a combination of VersaFine Clair ink to create a bright and beautiful background.
On top of my background I stamped the fun pattern from the Totally Stamp Set in Black VersaFine Clair.
Layered on top is the simple sentiment finished off with the paint swash detail.

Precious_hop_JN_Main
Such an amazing and versatile stamp set filled with loads of stamps to create a ton of sentiments.
I love basic and versatile stamp sets like these that can be used in a myriad of ways – and these sets are of an amazing quality.

Stenciled Celebration Cards.

POPcards_detail5
I absolutely love creating paper projects using my POP paints. This range of paints is truly so versatile and with the new bright and vibrant colours you can’t go wrong.
Today I created some vibrant celebration cards that can be used for birthdays and other special occasions.
POPcards_main
step 1 – Stamp your sentiments from the Chiswick stamp set onto white cardstock using permanent black ink like StazOn or VersaFine. Trim the sentiments to the size you need.
POPcards_step1
step 2 – On your craft sheet add a small amount of texture paste and POP paint in Burst.
POPcards_step2
step 3 – Mix the paint and texture paste together to give you a nice thick consistency of coloured paste.
POPcards_step3
step 4 – Create a coloured background. I used a variety of paints and inks to create a colourful mixed media background.
Stencil a pattern on top of the coloured background using the orange texture paste mixture.
POPcards_step4
step 5 – Leave the paste to dry completely. Adhere the stenciled background piece to a folded card.
Stamp flowers onto white cardstock and use some of your watered down Burst paint to paint the flowers.
Adhere the flowers and sentiment to the card and finish off with sewing and a few diamante.
POPcards_detail1
And a second version using some of my Haze paint combined with watercolour paint to create a purple flower.
POPcards_detail3
POPcards_2
And in a few minutes I created a couple of different cards using the same supplies – multitasking and creating a range of the same cards all at the same time really saves time and
you can build up quite a nice stash of cards ready to go at any moment.

POP Paint 290ml-Haze pp0316
POP Paint 290ml-Burst pp0319
Clear Stamp – Life Lessons rs3184

VersaMagic and VersaFine Clair on a card.

On the Imagine blog today with a card showing how to use VersaMagic as a colour softnener over VersaFine Clair. This quick and easy card has loads of interest and
different layers of stamping perfect for that special greeting card. Hop on over to the Imagine blog to see how I created this effect.

Decorative Dies on a layout for Kaisercraft.

This week on the Kaisercraft blog we are using Decorative Dies on projects – I love these textured dies for various reasons. But I think their simplicity is the best thing about them.
You can dress them up or keep things simple like I did this time.
I had a piece of white cardstock with some ink stains on it and used that to cut the Textured Brickwork die out of the inked parts.
This created an interesting effect, that is instant and beautiful.KC_JN_DD_layout
The butterfly stamped on acetate was folded in half and attached using a brad.

KC_JN_DD_detail3

The background has some gorgeous blue pattern on it created using Infusions. Such a beautiful and unexpected effect that I love with this pink and green paper combo.

Coloured paint splats in shades of pink, green, blue and black pull everything together.
And of late I am really loving this simplistic style of scrapping – Perfect for creativity and using up my odd stash of embellishments.

Creating a Sticker mat behind a photo – Kaisercraft.

On the Kaisercraft blog today I am sharing this layout using stickers – and lots of them.
I love the sticker sheets with each range, but I don’t use them nearly enough. This month I am on a mission to try and use my stickers in creative ways
on my layouts and cards. And in fact I have managed to use almost every single sticker from my sheets -mission accomplished.thankful_layout_Fleur_JN

Celebr8 Stencilling Technique.

Use your pigment inks and Texture pate to make your stencilled images really come to life with this easy to do technique.

C8_products_main
The Wholesaler is a proud sponsor of Kunsvlyt and we hope you will be inspired by Season 2. We will be giving away weekly prizes of products featured on the show, so keep watching Kunsvlyt and keep coming back here…

C8_products_detail1

step1 – Tack your stencil down with some washi tape to keep it in place on your cardstock. Start by inking the leaves using the Aloe Vera pigment ink.
C8_products_step1step 2 -Lightly ink the flowers through the stencil by tapping the ink pad through the stencil in selected areas only.
C8_products_step2
step 3 – Use your Fantastix tool to carefully blend the ink colours together to create depth. Add your last colour of ink, Versamagic Purple Hydrangea to the flowers and blend again.
C8_products_step3
step 4 – Use a palette knife and add a thin layer of Matt Finish Texture Paste through the stencil while it is still in place. Carefully remove the stencil and leave the texture paste to dry. The paste makes the ink colour underneath seem brighter and adds so much life and dimension to the otherwise flat stencilled images.
C8_products_step4TIP: To add texture I used a sponge dauber and tapped the Texture Paste down to give texture to the paste.
I love the effect of the blended inks and the finishing off the paste offers. A beautiful sealed in effect making the ink look really rich and beautiful.

Oh so lucky green.

Are you feeling luck? Well at least for a day you can be Irish and take your inspiration from the many shades of greens available in the Imagine stable. Today’s card features some of my favourite greens for an interesting and less grass green version of this famous holiday. Take a look at how I created this fun effect…

Easter Art Journaling Page with a twist.

After a bit of a break we are back with weekly inspiration on the blog using our fabulous range of products from Chiswick.
And with the Easter weekend around the corner here’s some fun art journaling inspiration for you.
I have been collecting medication leaflets for the past 2 months – and since I accumulated quite a bit of them I thought it a good idea to start using them.artjournalpage_step7

These leaflets found inside tablet boxes remind me so much of the tissue paper techniques I love doing so much.
And paired with anything that showcases typography and I am happy as can be. Warning: these don’t always have the most flattering of words on them,
but then again does it really matter? Art is art… and its what you make of it right? Right!
Fast forward and here is the art journal page I created… something fun and meaningful for Easter.

artjournalpage_detail1

step 1 – I selected Burst, Zest and Lush for my project.
These colours are perfect for some bunny fun and Easter – bright and light.

artjournalpage_step1

step 2 – Start by painting the leaflet left with orange (Burst) first in the middle section.
I did water down the paint slightly for a nice translucent effect.

artjournalpage_step2

step 3 – Then move onto painting the top of the leaflet with the Zest. Overlap the Burst slightly with the yellow to give you a seamless crossover
blending the two colours into each other. Again water down the paint slightly.

artjournalpage_step4

step 4 – Lastly paint the Lush (green) at the bottom of the leaflet again blending the colours into each other.
Leaf to dry completely or use your heat gun to heat set the paint.

artjournalpage_step3

step 5 – I used two leaflets to complete my art journaling page.
Use gel medium to adhere the leaflets to the page of your art journal.

artjournalpage_step5

TIP: I did not cut the leaflets shorter but rather trimmed the overhanging pieces down once the gel medium was dry.

artjournalpage_step6

step 6 – Once the gel medium was dry I started adding stamped images, a bunny cut out from patterned paper and ink splats.

artjournalpage_step7

step 7 – Stamped wording and stenciling using copper texture paste adds more interest.

artjournalpage_detail2

I used my Chiswick letter stamp set to add the stamped wording.
Using an ink pad made for detailed stamps, you can even pick up the detail from the stamps on top of the textured background.
How gorgeous are those alphabet stamps? Perfect for art journaling titles and quotes.

artjournalpage_detail5

If you are going away for the Easter weekend why not pop your art materials in a bag and create something beautiful and meaningful.
All you need is a few goodies from Chiswick and you can recycle and create at the same time!

I hope you are inspired…until next week! Live Creatively.

Kaisercraft Documented Layout with hints of colour by Jowilna Nolte

Hi everyone, Jowilna here on the blog today sharing a Documented layout with a hint of colour. I simply love this range but wanted to add a touch of colour.

detail4_JN

I started off creating my mixed media inked background using re-inkers.
The effect left a hint of cream, yellow, a beautiful grey and even some blue and green colours visible once the ink had dried.

love this layout_JN

A variety of Collectables elements added the yellow tones and for the blue/green I added some scrunched up thread under my photo.
This multicoloured thread gave me the interest and hint of colour I craved.

detail3_JN

detail1_JN

A couple of coloured splats offers the accent colours support and makes for a nice detail.

detail6_JN

Mini Typography stenciled detail works well on the background. I could have added the stenciled details in a colour come to think of it.
It just shows you how versatile this range is – perfect for everyday moments, school days, vintage, heritage and boys.

Thanks for stopping by today. We hope you have enjoyed seeing the versatility of this range as showcased by the Design Team the last couple of weeks.
Some more amazing designs heading your way with this month’s ranges…so come back soon.
