Remember a few weeks back I shared these gorgeous feather prints with you here
and then said that I would probably use them for a father’s day card or something. Well today was that something day…
I absolutely love how they turned out and they simply had to be used.
So today I cut them up and turned them into a modern art journaling page – just for fun.
This way I can forever have these prints in my art journal and as a reference guide to what I did.
like keeping a record of techniques and experiments and what better way than to keep them creatively side by side in my art journal.
I combined my prints with some creative play on a kraft background that will be adhered to another page inside my journal.
step 1 – Cut the printed cards into smaller sizes using your scissors only – even if they are not straight they are perfect.
step 2 – Create a random pattern onto the kraft paper using some acrylic paint combined with POP Paint.
step 3 – Adhere the cut up cards to the center of your kraft panel creating different heights and even overlapping some pieces.
Add additional highlights using a medium sized paint brush and POP Paint.
Once the paint is dry use a graphite pencil to add highlights, a small paint brush to add ink splats and some staples for texture.
And so you can turn those fun experiments into works of art with a modern twist.
