Way to Go Celebration card with Joy Clair and Thermoweb

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Today on the Joy Clair Blog I am sharing a celebration card made using a previous release stamp set and some Thermoweb foiled elements.

I struggled using this stamp set when it first release – I think personally I had been in a bad space for a while and just didn’t ‘see’ the potential. But once I got over the pressure of being creative and just went for it, things fell into place.
First I started with a background I had created using the Gelli Plate and acrylic paints. I then added some foiled elements from Thermoweb/ Brutus Monroe punched into circles. The circles formed a base for my stamped mask to sit on but also used as an element at the bottom of the card as decoration.
A few diamante adds to the theme and a little bit of glamour.
Stamped diamonds colored with markers grouped together with the sentiment at the bottom of the card.
Using foam tape to raise the mask at the top of the card adds some dimension and just makes it stand out against the foiled circle. And now this stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favorites to use . And the moral of the story is simply that once the ice is broken, and you just go for it – things often fall into place. So for today – go out and be brave – just do it!
Until next time Love Jowilna x

Gentleman’s Emporium Card with a twist

I love mixing and matching different paper ranges – for me there is something special about being able to make them work together and look amazing. For this card I combined Butterfly Garden and Gentleman’s Emporium together and it looks awesome.

It all started when I tested my foiling technique on this piece of Butterfly Garden Patterned paper using a dot stencil I knew I wanted to turn it into a card and this was the perfect opportunity.

Products used: CO726063 Foil – Gold (Iridescent Triangular Pattern) – Heat activated, CO726526 Paper Pad – Butterfly Garden – 12 x 12in – 304.8 x 304.8mm, CO726823 Paper – 12 x 12in – Gentleman’s Emporium Sheet 10 – 304.8 x 304.8mm
Other: Pearls, heavy gel, stencil, foam tape.

I added a cut out element to the center of the card form the Gentleman’s Emporium, as well as the sentiment piece layered on top of it. Below the card in the center I added a foiled scroll element tucked under the card and finished off with a pearl.
The center piece was raised using foam tape for dimension.
And a few more pearls added on the card piece for repetition.
Until next time – I hope you experiment with some different ranges combined together to create magic. Live creatively Jowilna x

Gentleman’s Emporium Single Page

I had some time to create with the Gentleman’s Emporium so more and made this single page layout. It turned out even better than what I had imagined. I often find it hard to work with browns and greens, but somehow this range with its pretty softer shades was so much better for me personally. And add some bling and you have a winning combination.

Products used: CO726846 Mini Hotfoil Stamp – Gentlemans Emporium -Gentlemans Centrepiece, CO726823 Paper – 12 x 12in – Gentlemans Emporium, CO726819 Paper – 12 x 12in – Gentlemans Emporium, CO726063 Foil – Gold (Iridescent Triangular Pattern) – Heat activated , F CO721964 Foam Mounting Tape – Standard (12mm x 4m)

I used Mini Hotfoil Stamp – Gentlemans Emporium -Gentlemans Centrepiece to create some foiled elements used on the layout on either side of my photo.
I love this amazing foiled stamp – so versatile and pretty. Perfect for any project.
A collection of elements cut from the patterned paper and arranged to create a background for the photo to sit on. My layout is finished off with some pearls and ink splats. Some gold ink picks up on the gold foiled elements for repetition.
Until next time – live creatively Jowilna.

How to make quick and easy Gentleman’s Emporium Cards

Welcome to today’s blog post with me Jowilna. I finally got my hands on the New Gentleman’s Emporium Range and I love it. I made some quick cards with foiled details, and let me just say that the foiling makes these cards shine even brighter.

I used my patterned papers as a base for my cards, and if you get hold of the 6×6″ paper pads they are simply perfect for making cards – no waste, no mess, no fuss.

For the sentiment on this card I cut a strip of the patterned paper and raise it using foam tape. A few pearls dresses up the card.

For my second card I used some elements from the Collection pack layered on top of a foiled frame. Note how I dropped the frame off the edge of the card for a fun look.

I repeated my use of pearls as embellishments and a few ink splats.

Quick and easy cards for all those men in our lives, but still adding some bling for good measure. Until next time, live creatively!
