Alcohol ink ATC cards for Couture Creations

Hi everyone, today on the Couture Creations blog we have another fun challenge for you. This month Adriana challenges us to create some ATC cards. I created my ATC cards using a fun Alcohol Ink background and the gorgeous butterfly stamp. If you haven’t played with the new Couture Creations alcohol inks yet you are seriously missing out. I have a short little video on how I created the background in a few easy steps.

Hop on over to the Couture Creations blog to see what the rest of the design team created with the challenge.
After I created the backgrounds, and the gold was really shiny, I used my sanding block to add some scratches to the surface. It leaves a nice texture in the gold alcohol inked areas creating lots of interest.
We hope you enjoy this little tutorial and play along with us to create your own little amazing works of art. Until next time – happy creating!

Tropical Vibes Single Page Layout Kaisercraft Sunissed Range

It’s been a while since I have blogged – yes, sometimes you just have to step away and breathe. And that’s what I did for a while, but I am happy to say that I am back and hoping to give the blog a little make-over and dust off the spiderwebs and dust – so hang in there.

Today on the Kaisercraft blog I am sharing this single page layout using the gorgeous Kaisercraft Sunkissed range.
Inspired by a photo taken by my cousin while on an island holiday, this layout came together easily – of course the paper was perfect for the photo and things just well into place.
I love cutting out all the beautiful elements from the papers and layering them to create dimension and add interest. Some elements sits under the photo matt and others are layered on top to add interest.
Don’t forget to adhere some of your elements using foam tape for dimension.
Gold splats using Kaisermists and rhinestones finish off this layout beautifully.
I can’t wait to create some more gorgeous projects using this range – even though an island holiday is not on the cards yet – this paper brings warmth and happiness no matter what.
Until next time – happy crafting!

Christmas Mixed Media Panel

Today I am sharing a Christmas Mixed media panel using the Saved by Grace stamp set. I love creating these panels for different seasons. They are a place to play and create and just experiment while creating something beautiful.

The leaves from the stamp set was stamped onto white cardstock and coloured using markers in different shades of green.
The green berries stamped directly onto my printed photo using StazOn Pigment ink, and then some red rhinestone berries added for dimension and color.
The background is done using crackle paste and color added with some gold, yellow and brown ink. The brown is my favorite Walnut ink Crystals from Imagine Crafts and Tsukineko. The effect is an amazing end result of vintage with a little bit of glamour and sparkle.
The beautiful and versatile Saved by Grace stamp set I used.

Mixing it up, Lady Pattern Paper and Kaisercraft

Mixing it up again this time around and still very much in love with the Kaisercraft Magenta paper range for its pretty flowers, and Lady Pattern Paper for its basic essentials paper that works with anything.

A spunky layout filled with personality, colour and charm yet grounded – just like my beautiful niece. This is a fun layout, with all the elements that I love thrown together.
I started by adding some colour to my background paper used.
Mix tuxedo black and Paris Dusk Memento ink on a plastic packet. Then mist the ink with water until it forms coloured drops. Lift the packet and stamp the colour onto the background. Make sure some colour will be visible from behind your photo and elements. Leave to dry.
Adhere the patterned background to a sheet of cardstock to firm it up
Adhere the pink card cut from the bonus sheet from the Essentials V3 pack. Then adhere your photo, followed by the tag, flowers and other elements
Finish off your layout with some embellishments, brads and ink splats.
A quick and colourful layout perfect for any occasion, young and old. Just have fun with it – and don’t forget to mix those gorgeous paper ranges together for a unique look

The base was created with watercolour paint [my first love] some of my stencils and of course lots of stamping to create the different layers.
These guys are so cute – we used watercolour paint to add layers of colours to the crabs giving them such unique personalities – each one looking amazing.
Rainbow colours for the win!
Stunning effects on the background using DecoArt paint and Glamour Dust for the coolest resist technique!

Fall themed cards with Joy Clair

Today I am sharing some Fall inspired cards. And although we are heading into summer I dream of cooler weather already. These stamps are so versatile and can be used for any occasion – even if its not fall in your neck of the woods.

For my first card I stamped the leaves to create an area in the middle for the sentiment – pretty much as the stamp was intended to be used. Such an awesome idea and can be used in a myriad of ways.
I used my favorite markers to add some colour to my leaves – quick easy and an artistic mess.
The sentiment was stamped with my favorite Sepia Versafine ink pad, and a few diamante finished off this card.
My second card uses a piece of old book paper inked using Memento ink and splattered with water to create the mottled effect.
A few leaves from the stamp set and a sentiment is all that is needed for a quick and easy card.
Perfect for someone special celebrating a special day of occasion. Neutral and versatile for male and female recipients. Such a cute set that is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Until next time happy stamping!

Pretty Powerful in Pink

This month’s new release from Joy Clair did not disappoint at all. One of my favourite new sets is this one – perfect for making cards for all those brave women fighting a battle inside of them. So, what better way than to fight like a girl in pink and bling.

I used pink VersaFine Clair ink to stamp the background directly onto my card.
The pink ribbon was embossed in white embossing powder and then coloured using my Leisure Arts markers kindly sent to me by them. They are amazing and with 60 colours to choose from – I had a ball.
A few finishing touches and some sparkle and this card is ready to be sent to someone special.
And do’nt forget the gorgeous Rinea foil detail at the bottom of the card. The cherry on the cake and making everything so much better. Until next time – happy stamping! Don’t forget to visit the Joy Clair website and blog for more inspiration and some retail therapy.

A mixture of Scrapbooking paper ranges

There is no denying that I love mixing up paper ranges together for added interest. I love a good range, but if I can combine all that gorgeous goodness together using bits and pieces then I am as happy as pie.

For this layout I combined 3 ranges of paper together for a result that even I absolutely loved!
I combined 2 Celebr8 paper ranges together with Kaisercraft for a surprising outcome – one that is bright and beautiful with a touch of vintage and fun at the same time.
You can see all those different paper ranges and elements peeking out from the side of the photo.
The Magenta flowers raised across the layout for added dimension makes for an amazing statement against the grey background.
The grey background is from the Magenta Paper Pack and works so well for adding gorgeous paint and ink splats like I did here using the Gold Shimmer KAISERmists.
I cut out all the elements from the papers that I wanted to use. Then grouped them together building layers of pattern for my photo matt to sit on.
Combining different colours of splats adds lots of interest against the background and repeats colours used throughout the layout.
So amazing what gorgeous paper ranges can do for a quick snapshot taken from social media – making memories so much more special – perfectly imperfect in every way.
Thanks for Stopping by today! Jow
