Create interest using layered stencils in red and metallic

Create some fun and interesting layered effects using stencils and color for your next project. Combine bright and bold colours like shades of red with metallic for a striking effect. Take a look at how I created this background.

Layering different stencil patterns over each other can create a really interesting effect on your backgrounds. Layer them by using inks or combining different mediums together like I did here.
Trim a piece of smooth white cardstock to fit the front of your card base. Tape stencil to the back and start blending using Memento Luxe Love Letter in. Leave some areas open
Next blend in the open areas using VersaMagic Red Magic and also overlap onto the Memento Luxe blended areas to create a seamless look.
TIP: Remember that you can also use your Versamagic Dew Drop ink pads for blending – you don’t always need Large ink pads
Stamp a sentiment onto white cardstock using VersaMagic Dew Drop ink pad in Red Magic and trim to size
Over stencil some silver glitter crosses to break the red color and add some interest to the background.
Finish off your card by adding the sentiment, diamanté and a wooden flower element

Mixing it up, Lady Pattern Paper and Kaisercraft

Mixing it up again this time around and still very much in love with the Kaisercraft Magenta paper range for its pretty flowers, and Lady Pattern Paper for its basic essentials paper that works with anything.

A spunky layout filled with personality, colour and charm yet grounded – just like my beautiful niece. This is a fun layout, with all the elements that I love thrown together.
I started by adding some colour to my background paper used.
Mix tuxedo black and Paris Dusk Memento ink on a plastic packet. Then mist the ink with water until it forms coloured drops. Lift the packet and stamp the colour onto the background. Make sure some colour will be visible from behind your photo and elements. Leave to dry.
Adhere the patterned background to a sheet of cardstock to firm it up
Adhere the pink card cut from the bonus sheet from the Essentials V3 pack. Then adhere your photo, followed by the tag, flowers and other elements
Finish off your layout with some embellishments, brads and ink splats.
A quick and colourful layout perfect for any occasion, young and old. Just have fun with it – and don’t forget to mix those gorgeous paper ranges together for a unique look

For years I have tried to convince people about the specialness of Project Life and only now in the last year or two have they come around, seeing what I am seeing and realizing the value of these everyday moments. No matter how you approach Project Life – make it meaningful and true to you. This is not fake or perfect memory keeping – this is the raw uncut version of life.
In the pockets we make our own cards, adding creativity and handmade touches – still answering the creative call and living our best lives through it.
It’s about celebrating our loved ones – perfect and imperfect.
its about those little moments that our breath away – the things we want to hold onto most of all.
That is Project Life.
