Creating a perpetual Calendar using my Cricut Maker

I made a thing! As part of my organizing and purging journey I used my Cricut Maker Cricut – The Official Page! to make a perpetual Calendar. It’s by no means perfect but I had fun and it didn’t cost me a sent today. I used a piece of Perspex I had on hand and some black vinyl and that’s all it took. And all I have to do now is to hang it onto the wall and learn to love my own handwriting – is that too much too ask in 2021? I guess not. Thank you Cricut – The Official Page! for the best machine ever and The Wholesaler for supplying us with this beast.
I still need to add the months at the top of my calendar, but the beauty of this whole process is that I can adjust and make it work for me and my needs – and if I wanted to I can change it every year to look different – because why not. With my Cricut Maker my busy life, home and craft room just got a whole lot more fun and functional.

Repurposing older patterned papers with Couture Creations heat activated foils

Today I am sharing how I use my older patterned papers together with my Couture Creations heat activated foils to create a bright and shimmering card. In a few easy steps I transform my patterned papers into something that is hardly recognizable. Showing you that even older paper ranges can be useful and make amazing projects. And by simply scrunching up your foils you automatically add some extra interest with a fun and playful texture and patterned effect.
I used my 6×6 “My Secret Love” paper pad and selected one of the patterned papers to use. Next I added a piece of Cut ‘n bond tape to the paper.
I selected 3 colours of foils to use and cut a piece from each colour. Then I scrunched u the foils. This will give me a fun and texture end result instead of a smooth foiled finish. Place the foils and then peel them off – using one colour at a time. Repeat until you are happy with the effect.
I use my anti static pad to remove the remainder of the tackiness – in my experience there is always a bit of stickiness left.
Now you are free to create a gorgeous card background.
An amazing effect is if you take this piece and punch it into shapes, die-cut shapes and elements or even stamp onto it. So many options in just a few easy steps. Have fun until next time….keep on foiling!

Painting with Couture Creations Alcohol Inks

Today I am sharing a quick and easy card created using Alcohol inks and Fine Point Blending tools.
I stamped the image onto glossy board using StazOn ink, and then used my blending tips to paint the stamped image. Once done I trimmed the image smaller and matted onto gold glitter cardstock. Then matted onto a larger background I created using a variety of Alcohol Ink colours.
The blending tips offers you loads of control to create fun effects and details using the Alcohol Inks. Imagine creating gorgeous red poinsettias for Christmas cards using Alcohol Inks.

What I love about painting with Alcohol inks is that you can achieve so much interest and depth – combining different shades of greens and gold together. Quick and easy giving me the much loved watercolour effect that I love so much.
You can watch my quick video on my YouTube channel and see how I created this painted effect. Thanks for stopping by until next time Jowilna x
