I spent the day trying to get rid of a cold and headache, and ended up recycling an old art journal page I started a while ago. It ended up being a good day.
The original page started with some white Gesso on the Kraft coloured pages in the Dina Wakeley Media Journal. The Gold stars were stenciled with my own stencil design using Icing Paste from Prima.
And that was it. nothing else.

So I started to add some Impasto paint sponsored by Trocraft to work with. The paints are amazing and I loved working with them. And those gorgeous pastel colours – just so pretty.
Impasto paints are heavy bodied paints, making them really thick, they are heavily pigmented paints for awesome colour ways.
They are great for creating texture and can be applied with a palette knife, a brush, texture tools or your fingers.
You can water them down a bit should you wish to, and they mix really well into pastes. So yes these are amazing paints for art journaling and mixed media.

I added some Mont Marte acrylics too in bright pink, orange and Turquoise.

And then some gold leafing applied with some tacky gel.

A few palette knife streaks using navy paint and black modelling paste. But the majority of the soft pastel coloured page was done with Impasto Paints (Manor Blue/Mint/Dusty Rose/Lavender)

And then I tested a new set of Graphite pencils I got recently. Its a cheap set – but works really well and I love them.

So all in all my headache is still present, I feel crappy but I wished this piece of art was on a canvas for my wall. So there’s that.
Not bad for an otherwise not so great day.
Disclosure: The Prima Impasto Paints were given to me by Trocraft South Africa to work with. The opinion expressed about the product is my own and I do not get paid for it.
