This week I am focusing on a boyish layout using my some of my favourite Lady Pattern Paper papers. We already know how versatile they are combined with other patterned papers,
but today I am sharing how simple it is to choose which papers to use.

This layout started off with a fun and vibrant floral patterned paper. I then grabbed my stash of Lady Pattern Paper and chose which colours best matched and complimented the patterned paper – and the following colours won loose hands: Red Pop, So Buff and Intense Teal – perfect for a boyish themed layout with a fun twist.
But that’s not all, I also embossed some stars onto Green Chartreuse using a green embossing powder that turned teal and matched my layout perfectly. My red origami heart is a fun twist using a piece of scrap paper. Foam tape was used to adhere the heart to add some dimension.
Here’s how I created my elements:
Step 1
Stamp stars onto green chartreuse patterned paper using VersaMark ink pad. Sprinkle embossing powder over the stars and shake off the excess.

Step 2
Heat the stars using a heat gun until the embossing powder is fully melted and shiny. Cut out the stars.

Step 3 – Folding the origami heart
Cut your patterned paper 11 x 11cm square. (click to view the easy step by step illustration)
My layout is comprised out of blocks of paper with the corners rounded and adhered to the background. My photos are scattered in between the blocks and then finished off with embellishments, embossed stars, the folded heart, rub-ons and a die-cut title.

Use your corner rounder to get perfectly rounded corners each and every time.

Use your scrap papers to create beautiful squares – perfect for a layout like this.

Larger pieces of scrap paper is perfect for folding elements on your layout – use every single inch of your papers.
