What an honour to be asked by our local scrapbooking magazine to create a layout for their sketch challenge in their latest issue here in South Africa.
I love working with sketches, and I love creating sketches for layouts. Its a quick starting point for a lot of people and a guide to get some creative time into our busy schedules.
Sketches can come from anywhere and I have even been inspired by the local Mugg & Bean counters to draw a quick sketch.
This was the layout I created using my sketch for the challenge.
I absolutely loved how it turned out – and as many other layouts this must be one of my most favourite layouts ever! The colours, the imperfect inky goodness and the plain artistic input offers a good mix texture and pattern.

I used some scrap experimental papers with paint on them and cut freehand triangles to use on my layout.
The silver splats is irRESISTible spray from Imagine crafts – enamel goodness in a spray bottle – pure perfection!

Random strips of more self created papers with some sewing on top and scattered diamante.

You have until the 22nd March to enter and get your layout published and receive a free magazine! I would love to see what you create with your sketch! So don’t delay enter today!
